Shikshan

Shikshan

Education is one of our basic constitutional rights which must be provided to all of our fellow citizens. Lack of governance and infrastructure is one of the major barriers for proper education to all. Poverty and illiteracy made this scenario worst. India is fourth among the top 10 nations with the highest numbers of out-of children in primary level. Furthermore, the rate of school drop-outs among students is very high. One of the main reasons behind this is poverty. When earning a livelihood and taking care of the members of the family becomes a primary matter of concern in one’s life, education stands a little or, very often, no chance of pursuance. For the underprivileged people in India, education is perceived as a high-priced luxury, and this negative outlook continues on with every new generation.According to 2009 data 8.15 million children was out of school in our country where as in 2014 the number is almost same (8.1 million). Looking at this staggering situation we had decided to start a small initiative called “SHIKSHAN”.”Shikshan” doesn’t only mean ‘Teaching’; it also says ‘education’. Our basic motive is to visit rural schools on a regular basis. We will distribute educational materials (in terms of gifts) to underprivileged students studying in primary schools and also motivate them by taking few interactive classes. The whole process will encourage them to come to school. A detailed survey report about their condition of learning, their syllabus, school environment etc will be made. The overall survey report will be a key document for us and other organizations to understand the overall scenario and we will also suggest organizations to act accordingly. We also have decided that, we will visit them twice or more in a year to make sure that their condition is uplifting on a subsequent basis. We may not be able to solve the overall problem but at least some of them will surely be benefitted, as our continuous support and encouragement will always be with them.
